Simple Pricing
Others take a share of your sales. We don’t. With Books.by, one flat annual fee unlocks the platform—and 100% of the royalties stay with you.

It's a great question. We don't think of our price as a problem. We think of it as a feature. While platforms like Amazon and Ingram offer a free service in exchange for a commission on every sale, Books.by charges a flat annual fee and passes on 100% of the proceeds to authors.
In other words, we don't take any commission on the sale of your book, and we pass on the lowest wholesale printing and shipping costs with zero markup. This is only possible because we're able to sustain our business with a flat, transparent annual fee, similar to the business model of an eCommerce platform like Shopify.
Whilst we understand that this upfront cost is not for everyone, we're confident that – for authors who plan on selling more than 10 books per year – it's a more profitable and equitable way to build your writing career. We also have no plans to introduce a free pricing tier in the future.
We don't. Instead, we offer a 100-day guarantee. If, for any reason, Books.by is not suitable for you within the first 100 days, we offer a no-questions-asked refund on the full cost of your plan.
No, and there never will be. The only cost that an author will ever incur with Books.by is the annual plan fee. We don't even charge a service or fulfilment fee on book orders, or have any hidden markups on printing.
We aim to be transparent in our pricing. We don't take any commission on the sale of your book, and we pass on the lowest wholesale printing and shipping costs, directly from our print vendors, with no markups.
When you sell a book on Books.by, you receive a transparent breakdown of the costs involved in fulfilling the order, including:
Book printing cost: The raw printing cost, calculated using your book format and page count.
Shipping cost: The wholesale shipping rate from the vendor
Credit Card Fee: The 1-2% credit card merchant fee incurred in processing the payment.
ISBNs are required for all traditionally published books. For new authors, purchasing a single ISBN directly through Bowker can cost up to $125 USD — more than the price of our annual plan.
As a high-volume publisher with tens of thousands of active titles, Books.by secures ISBNs at dramatically lower rates. We pay less than $1 to register a new ISBN though our wholesale accounts.
Because of this discrepancy — and as part of our author-first philosophy — we include unlimited free ISBNs with every Books.by plan. It costs us almost nothing, but carries real value for authors.
Start today with Books.by and keep 100% of your sales, readers, and royalties.
